Best (Easiest!) way to prepare/cook spaghetti squash!
We know Spaghetti Squash is tasty and good for you...AND a great substitute for pasta for those on a gluten free diet...but it can be a pain to prepare....until now! That's right, no more steaming, no more sitting in a pan of broth...in fact, if you call in the next 30 minutes, we'll throw in a free set of Ginsu knives....Oh, wait! First step, bring on your inner Dexter and slash about 6 or 7 knife wounds into the top half portion of the squash.
Then, throw in the microwave as is (with slashes on top) and cook at full power for 14 minutes for medium to large size and 12 minutes for small size. When done, let sit in microwave for 1 minute to rest.
When it's done, cut in half and scoop out the inner portion with the seeds. The skin of the squash is now paper thin. Use the tines of a fork to scrape all that healthy goodness off the skin and either season and eat as a side vegetable or use as a pasta substitute in your favorite recipe. Enjoy!
