First, preheat oven to 350 and pour yourself a glass of chardonnay. No, it doesn't make the time go by quicker but it makes the time going by more delicious and enjoyable!
Add flour and mix well. Don't think about gluten. If you don't think about it then it isn't so. Plus, I think it only becomes glutenous if it is 3 tablespoons or more, right?? Phew! Moving on...
Add water and stir, cook until thick (1-2 minutes).
Add that "organic" goodness called Cheese Whiz and stir to melt and combine.
Add frozen broccoli and combine all kids in the pool. Add salt and pepper and shut stove off. Add beaten eggs and combine completely.
Once combined, pour into your greased casserole.
Now, because I don't like doing dishes, and because I'm a big believer in all this flavor is going in the same dish, I prepare my bread crumb topping in the same pan! Melt the 2 tblsp butter with the panko crumbs and then sprinkle on top of the casserole. Cook at 350 degrees for 50 minutes...
then serve and SCARF down! I mean, come on, it's broccoli for goodness sake...that makes it healthy, right!!!! Enjoy!!
4 Tablespoons butter
1 small onion diced medium
2 Tablespoons flour
1/2 cup water
3/4 of an 8 oz jar of Cheese Whiz
1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
1 bag frozen CHOPPED broccoli (about 12 oz but slightly more or less is ok when it come to broccoli!)
3 XL eggs, well beaten
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup Italian style PANKO bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Generously grease a 1 1/2 qt casserole dish
Saute onion in 4 tblsp butter until translucent. Add flour and mix well. Add water. Stir and cook until thick. Add cheese. Add frozen broccoli and then add salt and cracked pepper, stir to combine. Shut heat off and add beaten eggs. Stir to combine and then add to casserole dish. Melt butter in same cooking pan and add Panko crumbs. Stir to combine and sprinkle over top of casserole. Bake 50 minutes and then serve and enjoy!!!
